Palish cherry-red. Subdued but nuanced nose offers cherry and spices lifted by floral and peppery notes. Sweeter and suppler than the basic pinot bottling, with more intensity and shape to its juicy, bright fruit and spice flavors. Finishes more tactile too, with fine-grained dusty tannins and lovely shape. I don’t recall tasting a better pinot from this estate. 89.
