The concrete aging, combined with the 60 year old vine, and the beauty of this forbidden/defended fruit is spectacular - it literally sparkles like a ruby jewel in the glass with spicy notes on the nose, much like a Chambourcin, but round soft berry flavors. It's light but has a lot of structure making it a very complicated red that is super easy to drink - dangerously so! Not that I needed to have this with food, but I took this out to Zeppoli in Collingswood and we had this with seafood - clams, mussels, shrimp, swordfish, and also with both white and red sauces.
