(from young vines in Basarin, which Sottimano describes as "barely premier cru in quality"; vinified like a Barbaresco but bottled eight months earlier): Good full red. Perfumed aromas of currant and meat accented by mint and menthol. Smooth and fine-grained, with good depth to the round flavors of currant and plum. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. Makes a lovely introduction to nebbiolo. "Our village wine," says Sottimano.
