(13.5% alcohol)) Full medium ruby. Cassis, licorice and tobacco leaf on the nose, along with a menthol nuance. Fresh, suave and fine-grained, with bright flavors of cassis, cedar, licorice and brushy herbs. Not especially complex but nicely pliant for Saint-Estephe, with lively acids extending the flavors on the moderately long finish. A good example of the type of wine Bordeaux can do so well: not a blockbuster—in fact almost light—yet balanced, fresh and spectacular with food.
