About Pride Mountain Vineyards
Nestled above the Spring Mountain fog, on the Napa-Sonoma county line, Pride Mountain Vineyard sits on a former 340-acre agricultural Summit Ranch. In 1989, when Jim and Carolyn Pride purchased the spread they planned on growing grapes to sell, but soon caught the bug and built a winery.
2009 Pride Mountain Vineyards Chardonnay Napa Valley
Producer: Pride Mountain Vineyards
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: California
Region: Napa
89 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2011
(from fruit in Carneros, the only Pride wine from "off the property"): Full yellow. Exotic aromas of yellow plum, tropical fruits and orange blossom. Then quite dry in the mouth, with surprising acidity to frame the citrus, spice, lichee and butter flavors. Reminded me a bit of viognier. Only 30% of this wine went through malolactic fermentation. Fresher and fruitier than the 2007 version.
