Deep ruby.  Aromas of dark berries and cherry show a jammy quality and a hint of mocha.  Pliant, straightforward blackberry and bitter cherry flavors pick up a minty quality on the back half, along with a touch of cracked pepper.  Finishes dry and tangy, with good cut and focus.  Nothing fat or stereotypically Australian about this wine, which offers excellent bang for the buck.
