About Domaine Leon Beyer
The Beyer family has been making wine in Eguisheim since the sixteenth century, although the domain wasn't established until 1867. Today, Beyer bottles the full complement of Alsace varieties: Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Riesling, Tokay, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris.
92 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September 2012
Bright golden-yellow color. Intriguing nose combines scents of tangerine, orange, honey and flint. Ripe tropical fruit, nutmeg and cinnamon flavors are powerful and penetrating. This comes across as riper and softer than the 2011 Gewurztraminer VT (the two actually have very similar numbers, with the 2011 carrying 58 g/l residual sugar and 4.8 g/l total acidity), though this one also shows admirable balance and length.
