by Chris Cree M.W.
The Second wine of the legendary Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, this superb value offers many of the same silky, smoky ripe and supple notes as the top cuvee, but at a fraction of the price. It will also be read to drink anywhere from 5-15 years after the vintage. Superb wine, affordable price, excellent pedigree. Region: Pauillac (Bordeaux,) France Grapes: Planted 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc & 8% Petit Verdot Vinification: 18 months French oak (Allier and Nievre 25% new) Terroir: Garonne Gravel on top of clay Drink: 2015 - 2025
