More About This Wine
About Domaine Francois Raveneau
Named for its original proprietor, who, sadly, left us in 2000, Domaine Francois Raveneau is a goliath in Chablis. Raveneau's two sons, Bernard & Jean-Marc, now continue the family tradition, maintaining a commitment to natural wine.
2010 Domaine Francois Raveneau Chablis Valmur
Producer: Domaine Francois Raveneau
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
93-96 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2011
Pale color. Subtle, reticent aromas of pear and stone. Densely packed and impressively intense; at once oilier and less exotic than the Blanchots. Very strong notes of wet and crushed stone along with a strong grapefruit piquancy. Voluminous and fine-grained grand cru. This is much less explosive today than the Blanchots but more harmonious and longer on the aftertaste.
