About Louis Michel & Fils
In six generations of winemaking here in Chablis, the Michel family has developed a no nonsense approach. You won't find the distracting presence of oak in these immaculate Chardonnays, because no wood is used in their cellaring.
2010 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis Montmain
Producer: Louis Michel & Fils
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: France
Region: Burgundy
Appellation: Chablis
89 Points | International Wine Cellar , July/August 2012
(like the village Chablis, this was bottled with a screwcap for the American market): Pale yellow. Peach, tangerine and a whiff of sea breeze on the nose, plus a suggestion of toast. Supple and nicely concentrated, with a slightly high-toned quality to the soft citrus flavors. This nicely ripe premier cru finishes with very good texture and length. (I rated the village Chablis 88 points in Issue 157, and another bottled tasted at the domain remained tactile and fresh, and downright glyceral compared to the young 2011.)
