Bright ruby.  Aromas of candied plum, cherry-cola and tobacco.  Broad and ripe but dry, with spicy oak adding sweetness to the wine's dark fruit compote flavors.  The very persistent finish features gentle tannins and a lingering note of bitter chocolate.  This is superb value for a variety that usually offers miserable bang for the buck.
