Ruby with a bright rim.  Raspberry and cherry-vanilla on the nose, along with hints of dried rose and sassafras.  Sappy, nicely focused red berry and bitter cherry flavors are given spine and lift by tangy acidity, with a late note of licorice adding depth.  Suave oak spices carry through the long, gently gripping finish.  I like this wine's structure.
