(59% mourvèdre, 30% grenache and 11% counoise): Dark pink. Pungent, assertive aromas of dried cherry, redcurrant and rhubarb, with a spicy overtone. Fleshy but dry, offering powerful red berry and bitter cherry flavors and a late jolt of white pepper. Finishes with good tangy bite and lingering red fruit notes. A serious rendition of pink wine, with the oomph to handle full-flavored foods, even red meats.
