Bright ruby.  Reticent but pure aromas of blueberry, dark chocolate and spices.  Creamy, seamless and round, with a restrained sweetness and good freshness to its dark raspberry and blackberry flavors.  Has just enough acidity to maintain its shape.  Finishes with ripe tannins and very good length.  Use this excellent value as a stand-in for a polished Cotes du Rhone.

Great wine
by Thorbin11824907
This wine has been a hit with my special friends who I shared it with. Too bad it is a limited supply. Will get my hands on more if I can find it.
Wonderful Malbec
by PinotNoir274096
This is an excellent wine "right from the bottle" but after we let it sit and aerate in our decanter for about an hour, it was absolutely wonderful. A very nicely balanced Malbec.
Big juicy delght

The F. M. is one whale of a bang for the buck. Its full-bodied, with way-up-front berry flavors but far more true finish than one expects from this age wine. We seek it out. Well done!
Pure Patagonia Pleasure
by Matlock 14106597
It used to be that the only thing coming out of Patagonia was dinosaur bones. Based on this Malbec, their forunes may soon change. I drank one bottle way too soon about three months ago and I was not impressed. But a three month nap did it wonders and the blue berry / dark chocolate combination is now fully expressed. And this wine will only get better. Not bad for around $15/bottle!
Quality, quality, quality

What a great surprise, not just another malbec. Unique profile, with dry cab like tannins. I doubt I have ever had such a malbec before. This will pair with many dishes that you wouldn't normally have put with a malbec......very unique. I like wines that don't taste like every other wine. If you do too, you will like this. Better with a little air and at near room temp rather than chilled, IMO.
Another good Malbec

A nice inexpensive drinkable Malbec.

Although there is some flavor, it is basically dull and uninteresting in the mouth.

Fruit forward, simple, good everyday drinker

About Argentina

Until the early 1990s, Argentina's wine industry was focused inward, as the local market's thirst was sufficient to absorb the huge quantities of everyday drinking wine produced there. But with per-capita consumption in the domestic market in sharp decline since the mid-1970s, Argentina's wine producers realized that they had to look to export markets to remain in business, and winemaking in Argentina began its transformation.

The Malbec grape may have originated in southwest France, where it still is grown under the name Cot. However, the grape's international profile has surged not because of what's going on in France, but rather because of current trends in Argentina.
