($30) Light yellow-gold. Aromatic, spicy nose offers white pepper, lime, coriander and white flowers. Rich and ripe on entry, with savory flavors of yellow apple, pear, citrus fruits and herbs. This could use a bit more acidity for better lift and definition, but it is a very good example of what incrocio Manzoni can do in cooler climates. Incrocio Manzoni (of which there is more than one: the best, and the one reviewed here, is labeled 6.0.13) is a crossing of Rhine riesling and pinot bianco developed by the university professor of the same name. It yields delicately spicy wines of real promise.
