Vivid ruby.  Dried cherry and dark berries on the nose, with complicating notes of anise and tobacco.  A vanilla quality builds with air and adds sweetness to the cherry compote and bitter chocolate flavors.  The smoky finish offers very good length and lingering spiciness.
