About Talley Vineyards
Before the Talley family made wine, they grew peppers, avocados, zucchini and more. In fact, in the Arroyo Grande Valley, the Talley’s have more of a name for vegetable growing than winemaking. The balance, however, is swaying, if not shifting, as the family wine operation, started in 1982, has continued to pick up steam.
2009 Talley Vineyards Chardonnay Oliver's Vineyard Edna Valley
Producer: Talley Vineyards
Style: White Wine
Grape Type: Chardonnay
Origin: California
Region: Central Coast
92 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2011
Bright gold. Pungent, intensely perfumed aromas of honeydew, nectarine and orange pith, with suave floral and spice notes and a hint of white pepper. Lush and sappy on entry, then more nervy in the mid-palate, with excellent focus to its citrus and pit fruit nectar flavors. The floral quality comes back strongly on the finish, which hangs on with excellent tenacity.
