($22) Medium-deep straw-yellow. Complex nose offers intense aromas of pear, yellow apple, quince and fresh herbs. Rich, dense and savory, with concentrated pear and dried apricot flavors augmented by an herbal, saline nuance. Finishes bright, with good length and excellent palate presence. Serious stuff here: a well-above-average pinot grigio that's big enough to stand up to white meat dishes easily. Color me impressed.
