($26; a blend of ribolla gialla and malvasia) Bright straw-gold. Clean aromas of floral white fruits, botanical herbs and obvious minerality. Brightly acidic on the palate, with a classic saline quality thanks to the combination of ribolla and malvasia. Ripe, fresh flavors of tangerine, lemon and apricot. A peppery nuance adds to this wine's overall interest factor. Not the last word in complexity, but balanced and cheerful, with sneaky concentration. This seems to me to be one of the more successful Speziale wines of recent memory.
