90 Points | International Wine Cellar , September/October 2011
($18) Bright, green-tinged yellow. Bracing, intense aromas of lemon, white pepper, white flowers and minerals. Fresh, intense and complex, with white stone fruit and lemon flavors carrying through on the long, saline finish. This bright white wine has an easy-drinking appeal that makes it hard to put the glass down. I would have scored it even higher had the palate shown a concentration and precision that matched the amazing nose. Made by Marjan Simčič of the Brda area in Slovenia, a natural geological prolongation of Friuli's Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli DOCs. This wine is part of the Adriatico line of three wines that Joe Bastianich has created to highlight the merits of three historic native grapes in the hands of recognized masters of the variety in three different countries on the Adriatic sea.
