($45) Bright yellow. Intriguing scents of dried lemon rind, pear, beeswax, pungent herbs and vanilla. Smells and tastes serious, with good depth and powerful buttery orchard fruit flavors complemented by herbs and dried spices. Finishes sappy, gently chewy and surprisingly brisk. This rather large-scaled wine may develop further complexity with another 6 to 12 months in the bottle.
