91(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - September 2011

(69% cabernet sauvignon, 22% cabernet franc and 9% merlot):  Dark red-ruby.  Black raspberry, licorice and brown spices on the slightly inky nose, with complicating notes of game and pepper.  Suave and brisk on entry, then concentrated and classically dry in the middle, with cabernet-dominated dark berry, bitter chocolate, mint and herb flavors dominating.  Densely packed, vibrant and very young.  Not as sweet or pliant as the Kanonkop pinotage but this is built for a long evolution in bottle.  Winemaker:  Abrie Beeslaar.
