Bright ruby.  Cherry and dark berry preserves on the nose, with complicating notes of licorice and olive tapenade.  Lively, taut cherry and blackberry flavors stain the palate, showing very good clarity and zesty minerality that builds with air.  Finishes with strong cut and lingering sweetness.  This is an outstanding syrah value.  (JR)
