About Beckmen Vineyards
When winemaker Steve Beckmen returned from Italy in 1997, he was convinced that his family's recently purchased hillside in Santa Barbara County would be perfect for growing Rhône varietals. His father Tom was skeptical, but since then, Purisima Mountain Vineyard has established itself as one of the finest sources of Syrah and Grenache in the Central Coast.

Bright purple. Scents of blackberry and mulberry, with notes of smoky herbs and flowers adding complexity. Plump, palate-caressing dark fruit flavors show very good depth and pick up spiciness with air. This lush, creamy wine finishes with very good breadth and sweet persistence.

Exceptional early impression on the palate and smooth, easy finish with a great bouquet, reminiscent of the best Bordeaux but with great reference to the Rhone valley wines and evoking a slight minerality from the Grenache grape. Great value and exceptional taste. Highly recommend.

WOW! Beckmen really delivered on this one. Great nose, then bam, this wine will sing and dance in your mouth. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to taste it after a year or two of aging. Another true hidden treasure from our friends at Wine Access. I would actually give it a 4.5 if the rtating system allowed. What a buy!
