(a Bordeaux blend based on 44% merlot and 34% cabernet sauvignon):  Good full medium red.  Aromas of blueberry, mulberry, lavender and spices.  Juicy, spicy and firmly built, offering good clarity and lift.  Finishes firm and persistent.  Quite suave for this "second" wine--in fact, more perfumed and energetic than many Washington producers' top red bottlings.  Proprietor/winemaker Ben Smith describes 2010 as "a cool vintage with normal ripeness--slightly higher-than-normal acidity and bright fruit."
