Ruby-red. Pungent, oak-spiced aromas of raspberry and blackberry show a flamboyant personality and pick up notes of vanilla and mocha with air. Open-knit and supple in texture, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and a good dose of vanillin oak. The lumber recedes a bit on the finish, which showcases the vaguely jammy berry qualities. I suspect that a little bottle age will tame the oak here.
