Glass-staining purple.  Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose and in the mouth, with notes of cracked pepper and licorice adding complexity.  Smoky and gently sweet, finishing with good depth and thrust.  This syrah has the fruit to stand up to spicy, richly flavored foods.
