90 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2012

(aged entirely in American oak, 20% new):  Inky purple.  Powerful scents of dark berry preserves, spicecake and flowers, with complicating notes of vanilla and cola.  Lush and creamy but also surprisingly energetic, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and exotic star anise and floral pastille nuances.  Finishes supple and broad, with very good cling and only a hint of tannins.
