Bright gold.  Musky aromas of pear skin, melon and lemon rind, with smoke and honey nuances adding complexity.  Deeply pitched orchard fruit flavors display very good intensity and become smokier with air.  Stains the palate without betraying any excess weight.  The finish is gripping, spicy and very persistent.  Shows impressive vivacity for a powerful wine.
