(bottled in July of 2011, following 18 months of aging in barriques; Cortese considers this to be a riserva): Good bright, dark red. Deep aromas of redcurrant, cherry and smoky oak. Sweet and supple in the mouth, with red fruit and spice flavors nicely framed on the back half by firm acidity. Offers good cut but I don't find the fleshiness of the vintage.
