88-90 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2011

Good deep red.  Very reduced nose shows a liqueur-like ripeness to the aromas of cherry, mint and menthol; less funky than the Serra.  Sweet cherry on entry, then a bit syrupy in the middle but with solid firming acidity.  Finishes with building, granular, tongue-coating tannins that have not yet harmonized with the wine's fruit.  This and the Serra age in 50-hectoliter Slavonian oak, notes Silvano, adding that the family's special old-vines bottling is raised in "younger wood."
