(57% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 17% cabernet franc):  Ruby-red.  Slightly high-toned aromas of blueberry, violet and chocolate, with a faintly candied quality.  Sweet on entry, then broad, focused and drier in the middle palate, with some very ripe hints to the redcurrant and spice flavors.  Big but quite firmly tannic today and in need of bottle aging to harmonize its elements.  The trickiest to taste of these 2009s in the early going.
