Good medium red.  Deeply pitched aromas of black cherry, licorice, mocha and cola.  Broader and darker than the basic Dutton Ranch pinot, with a subdued character to the cool cherry, chocolate and brown spice flavors.  Rich and smooth in texture but a bit sullen in the early going, showing less sweetness and floral lift than the Dutton Ranch pinot.  Finishes with dusty tannins and a touch of edgy acidity.
