About Chateau Rayas
Historically cited as the exception that proves that a 100%-Grenache wine can be capable of long aging, Rayas has for decades been treasured for its unique combination of almost Burgundian red-berry perfume and extraordinary liqueur-like ripeness and mouth-filling richness. Founded in 1880 by Albert Reynaud, Chateau Rayas is now maintained by Albert’s great-grandson, Emmanuel.

(a 50/50 blend of clairette and grenache blanc): Light yellow. Explosively perfumed scents of white peach, pear, iodine and candied lemon, with floral honey and mineral nuances adding complexity. Rich and expansive yet dry and nervy, with a strong mineral aspect to its sappy orchard fruit, floral and lemon zest flavors. Completely stains the palate on the strikingly intense, stony, very long finish.
