Bright, deep red.  Red- and blackcurrant, black cherry, blackberry, tobacco leaf and fresh herbs on the nose.  Juicy, brisk and tight, conveying a rather imploded quality to the cassis, bitter chocolate and licorice flavors.  Has intensity and verve but comes across as a bit grapey today.  Finishes with slightly drying oak tannins and edgy acidity.
