Brilliant purple.  Fresh blackberry and boysenberry scents are complemented by olive, cracked pepper and anise.  Textbook northern Rhone syrah, offering spicy, sweet, focused dark berry and spice flavors, with juicy acidity adding lift and supple tannins lending grip.  Finishes spicy and long, with noteworthy energy and cut.
