91(+?)? Points | International Wine Cellar , January 2012

(aged in 150% new oak:  in new barrels for a year, after which 50% of the wine went into tank and the other 50% into another set of new barriques):  Bright medium ruby.  Blackberry, cassis, licorice, bitter chocolate and coconutty oak on the nose.  Moderately sweet and suave, with a fine-grained, palate-saturating texture and excellent concentration to the dark berry flavors.  Classically dry wine, finishing with substantial oak tannins that dominate today.  I'd like to have seen this with a bit less new oak.
