Deep ruby. Perfumed nose displays dark berry preserves, licorice, minerals and pungent flowers. Sweet, vibrant flavors of black raspberry, cherry, minerals and white pepper. Dense and chewy but lively, with impressive clarity on the gently tannic, floral-accented finish.

Priorat the right way

It's one thing for Alvaro Palacios to produce glorious and elegant garnacha-based wine in his $700 L'Ermita, or even his $100 Finca Dofi. But to put out a sub-$20 bottle that is this balanced and food-friendly is quite an achievement. Very enjoyable.
