Deep red.  High-pitched red berry and blood orange scents are complemented by deeper suggestions of licorice and black tea.  Initially taut and linear but picks up heft and sweetness with air and offers intense cherry and raspberry flavors and good nervy back-end cut.  Finishes energetic, spicy and persistent.

Made from the Gamay grape, the red wines of Beaujolais are mostly exuberantly fruity and brisk wines that are often served lightly chilled for added refreshment.
