Bright purple.  Intensely perfumed aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry, violet and licorice, with notes of incense and star anise adding complexity.  Lush and seamless in texture, with deep dark fruit compote flavors lifted by peppery spices.  Finishes with strong punch and very good, floral-dominated persistence.

I'm skeptical of wines with prominent names, but this was a pleasant surprise. Good fruit with no off-taste, before or with food.
