Bright ruby. Delicate aromas of raspberry, strawberry and white pepper. Smooth and suave in the mouth, with red berry and cherry flavors complicated by coffee and floral notes. Very nicely balanced cabernet franc with a lively finish featuring polished tannins. This is another very impressive red wine from Ravine, showcasing the signature smooth house style; it's also varietally accurate and expressive. Just misses the extract and complexity for a 90+ rating. Given the high quality of this wine, I'm looking forward to tasting future Reserve cabernet francs from this estate. (Readers should note that Ravine Vineyard also made a very good non-reserve 2008 cabernet franc that contains about 15% merlot.)
