Bright ruby-red.  Red fruit and floral aromas show impressive intensity and focus, picking up notes of star anise, vanilla and black cardamom with air.  Pliant, spice-accented black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors open up with air and show a silky, seamless texture.  The sweet, broad finish leaves behind lavender pastille and mocha notes.  This wine drinks very nicely now with some air.
