(blended with 11% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, 2% syrah and 1% each malbec and petit verdot): Uncorked and poured immediately: Bright red-ruby. Pure but reticent nose hints at currant, cedar, flowers and fresh herbs. Supple, silky and rather easygoing, with fruit-driven flavors of redcurrant and cherry. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins. From another bottle decanted three hours before my tasting: Similar color. Chocolate and wild herbs on the nose. Deeper and longer than the first sample, with a more sophisticated quality to the tannins.
