Saturated dark ruby. Aromas of black cherry, licorice, smoky bacon and ink, along with a floral nuance. Supple and silky on entry, then tougher in the middle, with reticent red and dark fruit flavors firmed at the back by strong but harmonious acids and complicated by iron and dark cocoa nuances. Finishes with good breadth and chewy tannins. Picked up an enticing black-fruit jelly note and growing floral character with a bit of aeration. This needs at least a couple years to unwind and ought to drink very well for ten years after that.
