Should probably have been decanted...took time for varietal aromas to break through, and even then they were muted, a bit tight. Came back to it a day later and the sharp, razor-edged tannins were loosening their grip on lightly flavored cherry and red berries. Picked up some traces of earth and forest on the finish. It's youthful and, hopefully, developing.
