(15% alcohol; blended with 8% cabernet franc, 3% merlot, 2% malbec and 1% petit verdot; includes some fruit from Morlet's own vineyard): Good ruby-red. Highly complex, very sexy nose combines blackberry, blueberry, musky mocha and coffee bean and cigar box. Ripe and plush on the palate, if a bit less refined than the Coeur de Vallee, with strong menthol and chocolate notes currently in the foreground. A rather powerful, even youthfully astringent, cabernet whose slightly drying mountain tannins will require patience.
