About Peter Michael Winery
Appropriately enough, Sir Peter Michael, an Englishman who made his name in electronics, established his vineyard in Sonoma County's Knights Valley. From the moment he purchased the property in 1982, Sir Michael has insisted upon an Old-World approach to New World wine. Terroir is paramount here, along with elegance in favor of overstatement.

Dark ruby. Heady aromas of raspberry and Asian spices are complemented by deeper notes of cherry-cola and licorice. Zesty, finely etched red berry flavors stain the palate, with juicy acidity and a suave floral element providing lift. The sweet red fruit flavors expand on the extremely long finish, picking up notes of candied rose and blood orange. This spicy, energetic, very pure pinot has the balance and depth to age.
