Light gold.  Oak-spiced pear and nectarine on the nose, with smoke and marzipan notes adding complexity.  A rich, pungent chardonnay that offers creamy pit fruit and melon flavors and a strong suggestion of toasty oak.  A touch of bitter lemon zest adds lift to the persistent, broad, smoky finish.  Fans of large-scaled chardonnay will find my score low.
