About Beringer Vineyards
Founded in 1876, Beringer is the oldest continuously operating vineyard in Napa Valley. Head winemaker Laurie Hook directs operations at 14 different vineyards which produce almost as many varieties of wine. Decadently rich Cabernet Sauvignons, lush Merlots and rich, exotic Chardonnays are the standout wines at Beringer.

(with 1% petit verdot): Good medium ruby. Sexy aromas and flavors of cassis, blackberry, graphite and bitter chocolate, complicated by menthol and sexy oak tones. Lush on entry, then silky and full without coming across as weighty; the best-balanced and most complete of these vineyard-designated cabernets. Finishes very long and youthful, with fine-grained tannins. I'd hold this for six or seven years before pulling the cork.
