Getting Better
by Fannin10580945
Had another bottle of this tonight, and it is getting better, maybe even verging on greatness, but not quite there. It is a very good wine with excellent fruit and decent acidity, but it still just doesn't quite have that something extra - it doesn't "pop" yet. Maybe it will, and I'll still enjoy it even if it doesn't, but it isn't the best of Xavier. Maybe 4.25 at this point.
Maybe just slightly disappointed...

I had anticipated this would merit five stars, but, for me, it is a four. Garnet/purple to the rim. Nose of crushed red fruits with strong floral notes. Good fruit on the palate. Good acidity. Long smooth finish. Sounds great, but it just doesn't pop. Good, but not great.
